Sacked Driver Strangles, Slits Throat of Karnataka Woman Officer; Arrested

Bengaluru: A sacked driver was arrested on charges of murdering Prathima (45), a deputy director of the Mines and Geology Department of Karnataka. A day back, she was found dead at her residence in Doddakallasandra of Bengaluru.

Prathima’s former car driver Kiran was arrested on Monday on charges of her murder.

According to police sources, the arrested accused driver was sacked from his contractual job around a week back. He was alleged to be leaking critical information and movements of the officials.

Angered by this the accused decided to kill Prathima, who lived alone in her flat. On Saturday night, Kiran entered her flat, strangled her to death, and also slit her throat.

Kiran was arrested while he was trying to escape out to the Chamarajanagar district.
