Secret Maoist Camp Busted in Odisha’s Nuapada Dist, Explosives Seized

Nuapada: A secret Maoist hideout was unearthed by the security forces in the forest under Sinapali police station in Nuapada district during a combing operation.

A huge cache of explosives, detonators, and other materials used by Maoists was seized from the Naxal camp located in Patdhara Reserve Forest near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border.

Acting on an intelligence report, an anti-Maoist operation was jointly launched on August 17 by the personnel of SOG, DVF, COBRA, and CRPF.

During the combing operation, the security forces busted the Naxal camp near Jholapada village and recovered Maoist articles from the spot.

The seized items included 28 detonators, 1 kg low explosives, 1 AK 47 empty case, 2 radios, 1 multimeter, 1 battery (6 volt), 2 batteries (9 volt), 2 mobile chargers, 2 mobile batteries, 2 torch lights, 1 Maoist uniform, 4 knives, 3 arrows, 2 bundles of rope, 2 haversacks, 2 bundles of wire, 1 whistle cord, 1 bundle of cotton, 7 polyethylene, 1 switch, 1 key ring, 1 water bottle, 1 spoon, 1 cup, 1 nail polish, 6 soaps, 1-meter tap, 1 shoe, 2 sandals, ladies clothes, medicine, Maoist literature and 1 water drum.

The combing operation continues in the area to track down the naxalites, who escaped from the camp.
