Maoists Give Bandh Call in 5 States Including Odisha on April 15 to Protest Encounters

Bhubaneswar: The CPI (Maoist) has given a bandh call in five states including Odisha on April 15. The bandh call by the ultras is in protest against encounters and killings of their cadres by the security forces.

The ‘madhya region bureau, central committee’ of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) organization called upon people of Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh to extend support to their bandh on April 15.

In a press release, the Maoists claimed that over 5000 ultras have been killed by security forces in last 20 years. They added that around 50 of their cadres were killed since January 2024. Besides,  22 Maoists have been killed in the last 15 days- 3 in Pujari Kanker, 6 in Chipurbatti and 13 in Korcheli.
