Setback for India as Shami Ruled Out of England Tests, Jadeja’s Return Uncertain: Report

Visakhapatnam: In a crucial juncture of the India vs England Test series, the Indian cricket team is set to face challenges in the upcoming second Test in Visakhapatnam. According to Cricbuzz, veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami may be unavailable for the entire series due to ongoing treatments for an ankle issue in London, with no immediate information about surgery.

The report also indicates that star spinner Ravindra Jadeja is unlikely to return soon, having suffered a hamstring injury. He is expected to miss the second Test and might be sidelined for a few more weeks, making his availability for the fourth Test uncertain.

India’s wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat, addressing concerns about the team’s injury-plagued status, emphasized a calm approach, stating that there is no panic in the camp. Bharat mentioned the team’s improved tactics, including the incorporation of the sweep shot to counter England’s aggressive style in the upcoming Test.

Despite missing key players like KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, Bharat conveyed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back. In a pre-match press conference, he discussed the team’s post-first Test analysis and highlighted the relaxed atmosphere within the squad. Bharat emphasized the team’s experience in handling long Test series, stating that clear instructions have been given to stay focused throughout the challenging period.
