Simulia MLA Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi Quits BJD

Bhubaneswar: In the midst of the continuing election process, the MLA of Simulia, Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi resigned from the primary membership of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday.

Panigrahi sent his resignation letter to the BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.

He was disgruntled after being denied a ticket by the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) to contest the current Assembly elections. Panigrahi won the Simulia Assembly seat in Balasore district on BJD ticket in 2014 and 2019.

He was also a minister in Naveen Patnaik’s cabinet in the past.
