Singer Sourin Bhatt Deposes at Cuttack Police Station, Denies Sexual Harassment Allegations

Cuttack: Playback singer Sourin Bhatt appeared at the Mahila Police station in Cuttack in relation to a complaint of sexual harassment leveled against him by a woman.

However, he denied all allegations and claimed that he did not know the complainant. “The truth will come to the fore soon,” he said.

The Orissa High Court had granted interim protection to the singer till August 25 in the case asking him to cooperate with the investigation and appear at the Mahila police station.

The singer moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail claiming that the allegations leveled against him were baseless and intentional.

In this case, the victim woman is a bank employee. She had lodged an FIR in this regard at Jagatpur police station, which was later transferred to Mahila PS in Cuttack.

As per the FIR, Sourin had been harassing the woman both physically and mentally promising marriage and break in playback singing. She also alleged that Sourin had taken Rs 10 lakh from her.
