Stones Pelted at Rourkela-Puri Vande Bharat Express, 1st Such Incident in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Some miscreant reportedly pelted stones at the Rourkela-Puri Vande Bharat Express near Meramandali on the Dhenkanal-Angul railway section on Sunday.

The glass of the windowpane of an Executive Class coach was damaged.

The matter was reported by the RPF Escorting Staff. The security wing of ECoR has taken it seriously and alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP). They have started an investigation with the help of the local police to track down the culprits.

Vande Bharat Express suffered such stone pelting for the first time in Odisha. Similar incidents have occurred in other parts of the country in the past.

The Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24 this year.
