Tigress Injured During Mating Dies in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

Bhopal: An injured tigress died in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR) in Madhya Pradesh. This four to five-year-old tigress was found unconscious in the Manpur buffer zone of the tiger reserve. Despite treatment, the injured wild cat could not be saved.

It was suspected that the tigress was seriously injured a few weeks back during mating with a male tiger.

Her neck was wounded during the mating process. The wound became septic because of the rainy season.

The veterinary experts could not save the injured tigress. The Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR) in Madhya Pradesh has more than 150 tigers as well as other wild animals, including wild elephants.
