TMC MP Derek O’Brien Suspended from Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: TMC MP Derek O’Brien was suspended from Rajya Sabha on Thursday for the remaining Winter Session on charges of obstructing the proceedings of the House.

Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar issued this suspension order and asked O’Brien to leave the House immediately for “disorderly conduct”.

In Rajya Sabha, opposition members demanded Home Minister Amit Shah to come into the Parliament and make a statement on the security breach.

Before the ruckus in RS, the Chairman spoke on yesterday’s incident and said that an FIR has been filed and a high-level probe is being held. Then Dhankar named the TMC MP and asked him to leave the House stating a “breach of privilege.”
