TMC Worker Shot Dead in West Bengal’s Murshidabad

Kolkata: Tension mounted in the area as a Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker was allegedly shot dead on Sunday night in Murshidabad, West Bengal.

The TMC accused the BJP of having a hand in the killing. The BJP however denied the allegations.

The deceased was identified as Sanatan Ghosh, a milk trader and TMC worker. He was shot from close range while he was returning home from Ghaznipur to Para village on a bike.

Ghosh sustained multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

A police investigation is on. An initial probe hints that the murder may be linked to an old enmity and a land dispute.
