Wild Leopard Killed in Road Accident In Ganjam District

Bhanjanagar: A wild leopard was killed after being hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle near Mujagada under North Ghumasara forest range in Odisha’s Ganjam district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to forest officials, the leopard was around four years old. It met with the accident while crossing the road at around 2 am.

Some locals spotted the injured leopard and informed the forest department officials.

The Forest department officials and a team of Bhanjanagar police reached the spot to provide first aid and transport the animal to the Bhanjanagar veterinary hospital. But the injured leopard died on the way.

The Forest department has launched an investigation to identify the vehicle that caused the accident.
