Woman & Son Sleeping Outdoors Run Over by Truck in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Sleeping outside proved fatal for a woman and her son in Kuturia under Mahabirod police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district. They were run over by a truck on Monday night.  Four others sleeping with them had a lucky escape.

The deceased were identified as Runu Pradhan and her son Lipu Pradhan.

According to locals, because of the hot and humid weather, six persons including Runu and Lipu, were sleeping at the Kutaria jatra ground on Monday night when a truck ran over the victims.

The driver of the accident-causing truck escaped from the spot.

Both injured victims were rushed to nearby medical centres. Runu died at Parjang Medical Center, while her son Lipu succumbed to his injuries at the Kamakshyanagar Medical Center.
