3 Arrested for Threatening Judge for Giving Death Sentence to 15 PFI-SDPI Members

Thiruvananthapuram: Three persons were arrested in Kerala on charges of threatening Mavelikara Additional District Session Court Judge (1) Sreedevi VG, who awarded death sentence to 15 PFI-SDPI workers for their involvement in the Ranjeet Sreenivas murder, on the social media platforms.

Kerala Police increased the security cover of Judge Sreedevi when threatening messages against her started appearing on some social media handles.

The arrested persons are inhabitants of Mannancheri in Alappuzha and Pothankot in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Alappuzha South Police have so far registered six cases against those who posted threatening messages against the judge on social media platforms.

On January 30, Sreedevi VG awarded the death sentence to all 15 convicts for brutally murdering BJP leader Ranjith Sreenivas. She observed that the case falls under the category of the rarest of rare, and awarded death penalty to the convicts, Naisam, Ajmal, Anoop, Mohammed Aslam, Abdul Kalam alias Salam, Abdul Kalam, Saffaruddin, Manshad, Jaseeb Raja, Navas, Sameer, Nazir, Zakir Hussain, Shaji Poovathungal and Shernas Ashraf.
