NIA Nabs Karnataka BJP Youth Leader’s Killer After 2 Years

Bengaluru: A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested the main accused involved in the murder of Karnataka BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru on July 26, 2022.

The accused Mustafa Paichar was arrested by the NIA on Friday morning in Sakleshpura.

Praveen Nettaru was hacked to death by two bike-borne attackers in Bellare village of Dakshina Kannada district. Members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) were alleged to be involved in the attack. The PFI was banned in September 2022.

later on, the case was later handed over to the NIA later.

In January 2023, the NIA had filed a chargesheet against 20 people in the case.

The NIA investigation revealed that PFI had formed “secret killer squads”. The members of these killer squads were given weapons as well as training in surveillance techniques to identify, enlist and monitor leaders belonging to certain communities and groups.
