Assam Man Kills 6-Yr-Old Daughter, Arrested by Police

Guwahati: A man identified as Najir Uddin Laskar of Lathigram village in Assam’s Cachar district has been arrested on charges of killing his six-year-old daughter.

The arrested person’s wife Farida Begam also alleged that she was a victim of regular domestic violence ever since her marriage to Laskar.

On Thursday evening (September 21), Farida was beaten up mercilessly by her husband and she went to her mother’s house. She could not take her daughter with her.

On September 22, their six-year-old daughter Ayesha went missing. A missing case was registered at the police station by Farida accusing her husband’s role in the matter.

Police arrested Laskar on September 23. On Sunday (September 24) the body of the murdered child was found near a drain.

Police have taken Laskar on a three-day remand for interrogation and further investigation.
