Gurugram Police File Chargesheet Against 7 Accused in Divya Pahuja Murder Case

Gurugram: The Gurugram police have filed a chargesheet against seven individuals arrested in connection with the murder of ex-model Divya Pahuja, according to officials. The chargesheet names Abhijeet Singh, the prime suspect and owner of Hotel City Point, along with Ravi Banga, Hemraj, Om Prakash, Megha, Pravesh, and Balraj Gill.

“The chargesheet against all seven arrested accused has been submitted to the court based on the FIR,” said Varun Dahiya, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime). “The investigation will be expanded to include any additional accused identified during the probe,” he added.

On January 2nd, Pahuja was reportedly taken to Hotel City Point by five people and subsequently shot. The motive for the murder is alleged to be blackmail. The chargesheet suggests Pahuja was extorting money from Singh by threatening to expose compromising photographs.

Following the murder, Balraj Gill is alleged to have transported Pahuja’s body in the trunk of a BMW car before disposing of it in the Bhakra Canal near Munak, Sangrur, Punjab. Police believe Gill acted with the help of Ravi Banga, both allegedly following instructions from Singh, who is currently in judicial custody.

Pahuja’s body was recovered from the canal eleven days later, on January 13th.

One accused, Nadeem, remains at large. Gurugram police are actively conducting raids in an attempt to nab him.
