Land-for-Job Scam: CBI Files Chargesheet Against Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Yadav, and Rabri Devi in the land-for-job scam. The chargesheet has been submitted at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court, with a court hearing scheduled for July 12.

The land-for-jobs case revolves around alleged appointments in the railways that were linked to land parcels provided or sold to Lalu Yadav’s family during his tenure as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. It is claimed that these appointments were exchanged for land parcels gifted or sold at significantly discounted rates to Lalu Yadav’s family and associates.

The CBI’s chargesheet has come at a time when there are speculations about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s potential return to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fold. No date has been given for the hearing on the chargesheet as of now.
