Delhi Lieutenant Governor Terminates Services of 400 Specialists Appointed by AAP Govt

New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has terminated the services of approximately 400 ‘specialists’ hired by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in various departments. This decision is likely to spark a fresh clash between the ruling party and the LG.

According to officials, these appointments were made in a non-transparent manner and lacked the necessary approvals from the competent authority.

Additionally, they did not adhere to the mandatory reservation policy for SC, ST, and OBC candidates as prescribed by the Department of Personnel and Training. The Kejriwal government has yet to respond to this decision.

Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, has approved the proposal put forth by the Services Department to terminate the services of approximately 400 individuals engaged by the Delhi government.

These individuals held positions such as Fellows, Associate Fellows, Advisors, Deputy Advisors, Specialists, Senior Research Officers, and Consultants across various departments and agencies.

This decision comes as a result of concerns regarding the manner in which these appointments were made and the failure to comply with the reservation policy.
