Honour Killing: Girl Strangled by Brother on Road in UP Over Interfaith Relationship

Meerut: A youth strangled his 16-year-old sister to death in Meerut’s Nagla Shekhu area, over an interfaith love affair.

The victim, Amreesha, was reportedly in relationship with a Hindu man. Her Muslim family wanted her to have an arranged marriage as per their wishes.

On Wednesday, her eldest brother, Haseen had a violent altercation with her, following which Amreesha ran outside to the street.

Haseen caught her on the road and strangled her in front of the bystanders.

Haseen was arrested by the police, and the body was sent for post-mortem. The case has been marked as an honor killing.
