The airline has reportedly de-rostered the pilot and launched an investigation into the matter. The couple allegedly hired the young girl for domestic chores, and a relative of the girl reported seeing injury marks on her arms, leading to the police being informed. The mob gathered upon hearing allegations of the girl’s mistreatment, and the couple was subsequently arrested by the police.
Employing children as domestic help is prohibited in India, yet the rule is frequently violated. The police found burn marks on the girl’s arms, and she received a medical examination and counselling. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
