Kidnap & Rape Accused Arrested in Balasore After Dodging Police for A Year

Bhubaneswar: A person, who was absconding after kidnapping and raping a minor girl was arrested by the personnel of the Soro police station in Balasore district after a year of committing the crime.

The accused identified as Lipu Mallick, a resident of Baulagadia village, had kidnapped and raped a minor girl in the Balibada area under the Soro police station limits in August 2023.

He was absconding after the incident.

On Tuesday night, police received information Lipu was to visit his home. They raided Lipu’s house and arrested him. He will be forwarded to Posco court, police sources said.
