Maharashtra Man Tortures, Kills 4-Year-Old Stepson; Arrested

Mumbai: A man named Dilshad was arrested in Thane city of Maharashtra on Monday night for allegedly killing his four-year-old stepson by inducing severe physical torture on the child.

The accused was booked under section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

After getting separated from her first husband, the child’s mother married the accused and brought her minor son, Mohammad Aryan, from Kolkata a few weeks ago.

According to police sources, her new husband was reportedly unaware of the child from her previous marriage until she brought the child.

This created tension between the couple and Dishad refused to accept the child.

After the child’s demise, the police on Sunday initially registered a case of accidental death.

But postmortem report stated that the child had been subjected to severe physical abuse. His rib and bones were broken at multiple places and there were internal injuries in his abdomen.

Following this, a murder case was registered and the step father Dilshad was arested.
