Man Murders Wife, Hides Body in Sack in Keonjhar Dist

Keonjhar: A person was arrested by the police in Keonjhar district on charges of killing his wife and hiding her body in a sack at his home in Sadangi village under Baria police station limits.

According to reports, police recovered the body of his wife from a room in his house. The accused, identified as Pradip Bentkar, was arrested on Wednesday. The seized body was sent to the Champua sub-divisional hospital for post-mortem.

According to sources, on Monday night, inebriated Pradip had a heated argument with his wife Barsali. In a rage, he thrashed her mercilessly and Barsali breathed her last.

To hide his misdeed, Pradip stuffed his wife’s body in a sack, hid it in a room, and locked it from outside.

The murder came to the fore Pradip’s daughter started searching for her mother. She found the body and informed the neighbours about it. The villagers rounded up Pradip and tied him to a pole before handing him over to the police.
