Man Repeatedly Rapes 13-Yr-Old Neighbour, Beats Her; Arrested in Thane

Mumbai: A 28-year-old man was arrested in Maharashtra’s Thane district for allegedly raping his 13-year-old neighbour repeatedly and also physically assaulting her.

The accused was nabbed from the New Azad Nagar locality in Bhiwandi on Monday. The accused had made friendship with the girl’s family and was visiting their home frequently.

When the girl’s parents were out of home for work, he allegedly forced the girl to have physical relationship with him by promising to marry her.

The sexual abuse of the girl began in May, said police sources. On Monday, the accused beat up the girl and also threatened her when she refused to give in to his advances.

Based on a complaint lodged by the girl, the accused was booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
