Pakistan Man Burns Down Newly Wed 19-Yr-Old Wife In The Name of Honour

A man in Pakistan’s Punjab burnt alive his newly-wed 19-year-old wife in the name of honour.

The accused husband Ali Raza killed his wife Saba Iqbal by setting her ablaze in Bahawalnagar of Pakistan on July 28. He suspected that his wife was having an affair.

According to police, Saba and Raza had a court marriage about eight months ago.

After the marriage, Raza alleged that Saba was in a relationship with someone else. Muhammad Iqbal, the father of the girl, said Raza told him over the phone on July 28 that Saba had left home after a quarrel. Saba’s burnt body was found in the field on July 29.

Pakistan Police have arrested Raza who confessed to his crime.

Raza brutally tortured Saba before burning her alive. H ethen disposed her charred body in the field.

Raza claimed that he killed Saba after knowing that she had relations with someone else outside his locality. A murder case has been registered against Raza and two unidentified suspects.

As per Human Rights organizations, around 1,000 women are murdered every year in Pakistan for honour.
