Woman Kills Her 4-Yr-Old Daughter in Kandhamal, Buries Body in Jungle

Phulbani: A 4-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her mother, who buried the body in a jungle under Sarangada police station limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.

According to reports, the accused Padmini Dandia (23) throttled her daughter Surekha inside the jungle near Gutingia village and then buried her body at the spot on Saturday.

But Padmini’s father suspected the violent act by her and lodged a complaint with the police. Police recovered the body and took the accused woman into custody.

A case has been registered in this connection under Sections 302 and 201 of the IPC.

According to the complaint filed by Padmini’s father, a marital tussle continued between Padmini and her husband over the birth of the girl. Because of it, Padmini had left her husband to stay with her father.
