23 thousand free online courses, anyone can take advantage of this scheme of UGC

Free higher education courses are being launched by UGC. It has more than 23,000 higher education courses, including programs on artificial intelligence, cyber security and childhood care. All these courses will be available for free on a new web portal. Its objectives is to advance digital education and to bring higher education and to bring higher education to remote parts of the country. It is being launched on the occasion of the second anniversary of National Education Policy-2020.

The curriculum includes 23 thousand PG courses, 137 self-paced courses in emerging fields and 25 thousand non-engineering self-paced courses. No fee will be charged for accessing the UGC portal. All courses are free.

UGC has partnered with the Ministry of Information Technology to bring this course in the new academic year. UGC Chairman M. Jagdish Kumar said that in line with its efforts to make higher education accessible to all, UGC is working continuously to make digital access available to students in English and regional languages. CSC Public Service Center and SBP are working for this. Their aim is to make e-governance services available at home to people living in rural India.
