Odisha: Gadaba Tribe Boy from Koraput Cracks NEET, Secures Medical Seat

Koraput: In a remarkable display of perseverance, Ishak, a Gadaba tribal student from the Lamptaput area in Koraput district, has cracked the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), turning his dream of becoming a doctor into reality.

Hailing from Hanumal village under Anakadeli panchayat, Ishak is the son of Buda Badnayak, a local farmer. He started his education in the village up to class VII and later joined Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya in Mishingput for his matriculation.

Despite facing numerous challenges, Ishak remained focused on his goal of pursuing a career in medical science. He moved to Madurai, Tamil Nadu, for higher studies, where he excelled, securing 94% in his Plus II exams.

Ishak’s determination paid off when he cleared NEET and earned admission to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

His journey from a remote village to a medical college is a beacon of hope and inspiration for his community, proving that resilience can overcome any obstacle.
