AR Rahman Film Festival to Commemorate 30 Yrs of His Music

Chennai: To celebrate music composer AR Rahman’s three decades in the entertainment industry, ARR Film Festival will be held by PVR Cinemas in Chennai and Coimbatore from August 4 to August 9.

More than 15 films featuring Rahman’s music will be screened during this film festival. The list includes ‘Raavaanan’, ‘OK Kanmani’, ‘Bigil’, ‘PS 1’, ‘Maryan’, ‘One Heart’, ’24’, ‘Sivaji’, ‘VTV’, ‘Mersal’, ‘Pathu Thala’, ‘I’, ‘Vendhu Thanindhatu Kaadu’, ‘Jodha Akbar’, ‘Rockstar’, ‘Raanjhana’, ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ and ‘Sarvam Thaala Mayam’.

The Oscar winning music legend is known as ‘Mozart of Madra’ and has been a fan favourite for several decades. He was launched by filmmaker Mani Ratnam in 1992, with the film ‘Roja’.

AR Rahman took to Twitter to reveal the details of the ARR Film Festival. He wrote, “Celebrating 30 years of love! Grateful for the incredible love and support I’ve received from all of you, near and far. Your kindness and warmth have touched my heart throughout this journey. Here’s to many more years of cherished memories together (sic)!”
