On its third day at the box office, the movie, centred around a group of friends aspiring to go abroad, raked in ₹25.50 crore across all languages, bringing the domestic total to ₹74.82 crore. The film, marking SRK’s debut collaboration with director Rajkumari Hirani, features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.

In contrast, Prabhas’ Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1, released a day after Dunki, has garnered ₹145 crore. Shah Rukh Khan, in a recent discussion, expressed his openness to embracing “age-centric roles” and being “age-honest” in Dunki. At 58, he acknowledged the need for roles that reflect his age realistically, citing Dunki as a film where he has been “age-honest” for the first time.

Reviewers have praised Dunki for its impeccable performances, particularly from Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu. The film, released on December 21, explores the journey of a group of friends navigating unknown territories and a foreign land.
