Kannada Actor Shiva Rajkumar Rejects Congress Lok Sabha Ticket, Stays Committed to Film Career

Bengaluru: Renowned Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar politely declined Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s offer to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket.

During a community event, Shivakumar urged the actor to “seize this chance” of entering Parliament, stating such opportunities are rare.

However, Rajkumar, son of legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar, humbly declined, stating his father’s legacy lies in acting and that his own line ends there. He emphasized his desire to stay in the film industry and serve people through his performances.

Despite his wife Geetha Shivarajkumar (daughter of former Chief Minister S. Bangarappa) joining the Congress recently, Rajkumar clarified neither she nor her brother, Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa, influenced his decision.
