Laal Singh Chaddha Movie Heads Lacklustre Start On Day 1; Collects Much Below Expectations

Mr perfectionist Amir Khan starrer movie Laal Singh Chaddha has opened much below the expectations as the early box office trend shows that the film’s opening day is in the range of Rs 11.00 to 12.50 crore.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Laal Singh Chaddha, made on a budget of Rs 180 crore, has sold around 30,000 tickets at the three national chains, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, as of Wednesday morning.

In terms of all India sales, the film, which is an official remake of the hit Hollywood film Forrest Gump, sold approximately 57,000 tickets on its opening day.

The film is releasing in a week full of holidays and it’s essential to record a superlative trend in the days to come to make up for the loss of business on the first day.

This lacklustre start can be attributed to the fact that despite the promotions, audiences have been skeptical of investing time and money to watch films in theatres.

When compared to the other release Raksha Bandha, the Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha has seen a lower rate of ticket sales.
