WATCH: Nushrratt Bharuccha Shares Harrowing Israel Ordeal After Safe Return

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha returned safely to India yesterday after being stranded in Israel due to the ongoing conflict with Palestine. The conflict, which commenced on October 7 following Hamas’ attack on Israel, has claimed over 1,600 lives on both sides.

Upon her return, Nushrratt expressed her gratitude on Instagram, thanking the Indian government for her safe repatriation. She shared a video in which she extended her support to those still stuck in the war-torn situation in Israel and prayed for peace.

Nushrratt, along with her producer and stylist, had arrived in Haifa, Israel, on October 3 to attend the Haifa International Film Festival. They had been enjoying their trip, visiting historic sites and celebrating the screening of their film ‘Akelli.’ However, everything changed on the morning of October 7.

Nushrratt and her companions were awoken by the sound of explosions and sirens, followed by panic. They were rushed to a shelter in the hotel’s basement, where they learned that Israel was under attack. The situation had taken a terrifying turn.

In a state of terror, their first instinct was to reach the Indian Embassy, which was only 2 km away. However, with no means of transportation and the sound of explosions nearby, it seemed impossible. They were informed that Hamas militants had infiltrated various cities in Israel, further escalating the danger.

As of now, the conflict has resulted in at least 900 casualties and 2,600 injuries in Israel. In Gaza, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, 704 people have been killed, including 143 children and 105 women, with over 4,000 injured in Israeli airstrikes. Israel claims to have regained control in the south and over the border.
