Major Disaster Averted: BSF Jawans Neutralize Explosives Planted by Maoists in Malkangiri Forest

Malkangiri: In a crucial operation, Border Security Force (BSF) jawans managed to prevent a potential disaster in Odisha’s Malkangiri district. The BSF successfully discovered and defused explosive devices that had allegedly been planted by Maoists in a forested area.

These explosive devices had been surreptitiously hidden underground, with the intent to target security forces engaged in anti-naxal operations within the region. The ultras behind this act had clear intentions of causing significant damage.

The discovery took place in the Kamarguda forest, falling under the jurisdiction of Padia police limits, a region deeply affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE).

During a combing operation within the forest, the vigilant jawans of BSF’s 142 Battalion uncovered a total of five powerful improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Thanks to the expertise of the bomb disposal squad, these IEDs were safely defused, thus averting a potential catastrophe in the district.
