Before Marriage Woman Discovers She is Biologically Man

A few days before her marriage, a Chinese woman was startled to find that she is biologically a male.

For 27 years, she had lived like life of a woman.

According to reports by the South China Morning Post, this inhabitant of the Hubei province in central China, revealed that she was carrying a testicle in her abdomen, which had descended to scrotum.

The woman was initially worried about not menstruating and delayed breast development since puberty. Doctors recommended chromosome tests, which she and her family did not take seriously.

When this so-called woman underwent diagnosis by a veteran gynaecologist before her planned marriage, she was found to be suffering from a rare disorder called congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH).

The test results confirmed that Li had male sex chromosomes, but she looked female. She was socially a female. But chromosomally, she was a male.

According to reports, only 1 in 50,000 newborns have this type of genetic problem.

As per the suggestion of doctors, the testicles lodged in her abdomen were surgically removed as they posed a high risk of cancer.
