The painter who lost both hands in a tragic accident, received a new set of limbs after a donation by a woman who had pledged her organs to be used following her death.

Because of his poor economic condition, the ill-fated painter had lost all hopes, when he lost both his hands in an accident in 2020.

But Meena Mehta, who was declared brain dead, appeared in the life of this painter as a miracle. The hands of Meena Mehta, who was declared brain dead, were transplanted to the rescue of the 45-year-old painter.

A group of Delhi doctors and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital made this transplantation of arms possible through a more than 12 hours long intricate surgery that involved connecting every artery, muscle, tendon and nerve between the donor’s hands and the recipient’s arms.

The surgical miracle revived a painter’s life, livelihood and dreams after the trauma of losing both hands.
