To do and not to do list by Union Health Ministry to stay safe from Monkeypox

After the corona virus that has wreaked havoc all over the world, now there is an atmosphere of fear about Monkeypox in India. So far 8 patients of monkeypox have been reported in India.

Whereas in Kerala one person has lost his life due to monkeypox. India is taking vigil in the matter of monkeypox. The Union Health Ministry has written a letter to the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) asking them to decide not to allow passengers with symptoms associated with disease to board the aircraft. Meanwhile, the Union Health Ministry has released a list of do’s and don’ts to avid the disease.

Do’s-

  • Keep monkeypox patients separate from other people
  • Wash hands thoroughly with soap
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Wear a mask and gloves when there is an infected person around

Don’ts-

  • Keep distance from people who came in contact with monkeypox infected. Do not share bed, towels etc. with them
  • Do not wash clothes of the infected people with the clothing of other people
  • Avoid going to public events and public places when you see the symptoms of monkeypox
