Hong Kong Scraps One Of World’s Longest Mask Mandates

Hong Kong: Bringing an end to one of the world’s longest mask mandates, Hong Kong will have its Covid-19 mask mandate on March 1.

According to a report by Bloomberg, this will bring an end to one of the world’s longest mask mandates and comes 945 days after the stringent rules were first imposed in the financial hub.

The government’s move is meant to lure back visitors and business and restore normal life to the region.

Hong Kong chief executive John Lee said the measure will take effect from March 1 and said, “From tomorrow we are completely returning to normalcy.”

He added that lifting the mask mandate is a clear message to show Hong Kong is resuming normalcy.
