Israeli Army Discovers Bodies of 1,500 Hamas Militants Inside Israeli Territory Amid Ongoing Conflict

Jerusalem: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported a significant development in the ongoing conflict with Hamas on Tuesday, stating that they had discovered 1,500 dead bodies of Hamas militants within Israeli territory. The conflict escalated following an unprecedented attack on October 7th.

The IDF revealed that dozens of Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes, targeting over 200 locations in Gaza’s densely populated Rimal and Khan Yunis neighbourhoods overnight. These strikes aimed to dismantle key elements of Hamas and Islamic Jihad infrastructure, including weapons storage sites, operational centres, and residences of operatives.

In response to the escalating situation, Israel increased its military presence along the Lebanon border, deploying additional troops in anticipation of potential threats from Hezbollah. IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus emphasized the importance of caution and urged Hezbollah to reconsider any hostile actions.

Despite these developments, Lt. Col. Richard Hecht, another IDF spokesperson, stated that they were making progress in regaining control over the border fence in Gaza, with the hope of finalizing the operation soon. The IDF’s offensive efforts remained concentrated in the Gaza Strip.

In response to the October 7th attack by Hamas, Israel formally declared war and authorized “significant military steps.” Consequently, Israeli airstrikes continue in the Gaza Strip, leading to casualties, displacement, and injuries on both sides. Additionally, Israeli authorities reported that Hamas is holding approximately 150 individuals, including senior army officers and foreign nationals, as hostages in Gaza.
