To Stop Dancing on Roads, Cambodia PM Bans Musical Vehicle Horns

After videos of people dancing on roads as passing trucks blasted rhythmic musical tunes became viral on social media, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet ordered a ban on musical horns. Hun Manet ordered the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and police across Cambodia to immediately take action against any vehicle using musical horn by ripping it out and restoring the standard honking type.

The Cambodian PM on his Facebook page on Monday said that recent social media posts had shown “inappropriate activity committed by some people, especially youth and children, dancing on the roadside to the musical sounds from trucks’ horns.”

According to Hun Manet, such dancing affects public order and poses a traffic hazard that is a threat to life and limb, not least of all to the dancers themselves.
