WhatsApp to Become Smarter by Adding AI Chatbot, Photo Editor and More

Meta is planning to make its messaging platform, WhatsApp, smarter and more user-friendly by adding new features powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

According to reports, Meta is developing features like an AI chatbot, an in-app AI photo editor, and other features to make interaction and creation of content on WhatsApp a new more intelligent and user-friendly experience.

According to a recent report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing new features based on Meta’s own AI model. Currently, the company is trialling an AI-powered chatbot and a photo editor on the latest beta versions of WhatsApp. These features are joined by a new generative AI-powered photo editor, allowing users to create photos akin to AI-generated stickers.

This chatbot, dubbed “Meta AI” by WABetaInfo, will be directly accessible within WhatsApp, enabling users to ask questions and retrieve information without leaving the app.

The generative AI photo editor will allow users to edit or manipulate their photos creatively.

WhatsApp is also exploring the possibility of integrating Meta AI queries into the search bar. This means one will not have to navigate to a separate chat window to interact with the AI assistant.

The rollout of these features is expected to be gradual, with each one likely being introduced independently in the coming days.
