Ice Cream that Costs More Than Your Car! Cellato’s Luxury Dessert Raises Eyebrows

Bhubaneswar: Indulging in ice cream during the summer is a beloved tradition for people of all ages. From children to adults, everyone enjoys exploring various flavours and discovering their favourite brands.

Typically, ice cream is priced reasonably to ensure it remains accessible to all. However, a Japanese company has taken a different approach by introducing an ice cream that has earned the title of the “world’s most expensive,” priced at an astonishing 8,73,400 Japanese Yen (equivalent to approximately Rs 5.2 lakh), according to Guinness World Records (GWR).

Cellato, a Japanese ice cream brand, has crafted this extraordinary dessert using rare ingredients, leading to its exorbitant price.

The key factor contributing to the ice cream’s steep price is the inclusion of a rare white truffle from Alba, Italy, which costs a staggering 2 million Japanese Yen (approximately ₹ 11.9) per kilogram. Additional noteworthy ingredients in this lavish treat include Parmigiano Reggiano and sake lees.

A representative from Cellato spoke with GWR and revealed that it took them over 1.5 years of trial and error to perfect the recipe and achieve the desired taste. The satisfaction of attaining a Guinness World Records title made all the effort worthwhile.

Looking ahead, Cellato plans to introduce other products featuring different combinations of “the finest ingredients,” such as Champagne and caviar.
