Woman Seeks Divorce as Hubby Takes Her to Ayodhya for Honeymoon Instead of Goa

Bhopal: Just after five months of marriage, a woman from Madhya Pradesh has sought a divorce alleging that her husband promised her a honeymoon in Goa but took her to Ayodhya and Varanasi instead.

This surprising divorce plea reached the Bhopal family court on January 19, reported Free Press Journal. The woman filed the divorce case 10 days after the couple returned from their trip to Ayodhya and Varanasi. Meanwhile, her husband said that his wife was just making a big fuss.

In her divorce petition, the woman informed that her husband is an IT professional with a good income and she is also employed. As per the woman, despite having no financial constraints her husband refused a honeymoon abroad and pressed on visiting a place in India with the plea that he had to look after his parents. The woman agreed to visit Goa or South India for their honeymoon.

But her husband booked flights to Ayodhya and Varanasi, without informing her about the change in travel plans. She came to know about the Ayodhya, Varanasi visit only a day before the trip.

The woman accompanied her husband to Ayodhya and Varanasi without any argument. But after returning, she approached the Bhopal family court seeking a divorce from her husband.

In her divorce plea, she alleged that her husband was more concerned about his family members than her.

The Bhopal family court is currently counselling the estranged couple.
