1 Cr Govt Jobs, Rs 1 lakh to Poor “Sisters” Among Promises in RJD Manifesto

Patna: The RJD on Saturday released its election manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls with a list of promises that included 1 crore government jobs and Rs 1 lakh per year to “sisters” from poor families on Raksha Bandhan.

Former deputy chief minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav released the RJD’s election manifesto ‘Parivartan Patra’. He said that the RJD has made 24 “jan vachan” (public promises) for the 2024 polls.

Some major promises in the RJD manifesto are:

*To liberate the youth of the country from unemployment starting August 15 and provide jobs to one crore youth of the country

*Discontinue the Agniveer scheme

*To provide Rs 1 lakh every year to women belonging to the poor household on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan

*To build five new airports in Bihar to provide better connectivity to the people of the state. According to Tejashwi, the five airports will be built at Purnea, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj and Raxaul.

*Providing gas cylinders at Rs 500 to every household

*To implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in the state

*To provide a special status to Bihar.
