Paan, Gutkha Banned in Samaleswari Temple from Tomorrow

Sambalpur: Chewing of paan or gutkha has been banned on the premises of the Maa Samalei temple in Sambalpur in Odisha. According to reports, this ban order will come into effect from April 14, 2024.

The temple authorities have decided to take strict measures against people who will consume tobacco, paan or gutkha at the Samalei temple. They will be penalized by fines.

As per the temple authorities, no one will be allowed to chew paan, gutkha or will be allowed spit inside the shrine.

Chewing of paan and gutkha has been banned at the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri from January 1.
