Mahagathbandhan Seat Sharing in Bihar, RJD Gets 26, Congress 9

Patna: The Mahagathbandhan opposition alliance in Bihar, on Friday, announced the seat sharing among its constituent parties for the coming Lok Sabha polls. As part of the deal, the RJD, its largest constituent, will contest in 26 out of Bihar’s 40 Lok Sabha seats.

The Congress will contest nine seats, the CPI(ML) in 3 and CPI and CPI(M) will contest in one each.

The Congress has given up the Purnea Lok Sabha seat. The seat will be contested by RJD.

The Mahagathbandhan’s seat-sharing announcement comes a day after the filing of nomination papers for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls was over.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was absent from the Mahagathbandhan press conference in Patna.
