1 Pilot Dead As Two IAF Fighter Jets Crash In MP’s Morena

Bhopal: A pilot was killed when two fighter jets from the Indian Air Force, a Sukhoi Su-30 and a Mirage 2000 crashed earlier today while participating in a training exercise, official sources revealed. While one plane is thought to have fallen near Morena, Madhya Pradesh, the other is thought to have crashed in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, 100 kilometres away.

According to defence sources, the Su-30 had two pilots while the Mirage 2000 only had one. According to reports, two pilots who were able to evacuate are safe. The two pilots have been taken to a hospital after sustaining apparently significant injuries.

Two Indian Air Force fighter jets crashed in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena on Saturday.

The debris of both Sukhoi-30 and Mirage 2000 involved in this crash has been found.

Both fighter aircraft took off from the Gwalior air base.

The IAF has ordered a court of inquiry to establish whether there was a mid-air collision or not.

Morena Collector said that the crash happened at 5.30 am.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took stock of the situation and spoke to IAF chief VR Chaudhari who is continuously monitoring the situation.
