11 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured In MP SUV-Bus Accident

In the early hours of Friday, an SUV reportedly rammed into an empty bus resulting in as many as 11- fatalities and an injury in the Betul area of Madhya Pradesh.

Police officials were quick to respond to mayday calls and were soon at the spot to initiate rescue efforts and proceed with the legalities. The district collector also reached the spot to look after the proceeding.

The accident was so severe that 11 of the 12 passengers in the SUV died on the spot, whereas, the condition of the injured was said to be serious initially but now the condition of the injured is normal and at present, he is said to be out of danger.

Police also informed that all the bodies have been sent for autopsy. Addressing the media, the police said that as per the initial investigation, it has come to the fore that the SUV rammed into the bus after the driver fell asleep behind the wheel. The police have registered an FIR in this matter and further probe is on.
