Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury: I Echoed Public Sentiment on ‘Pagal PM’, Clarifies Remark

Murshidabad (WB): Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury recently clarified his remark about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that he was merely echoing the sentiments of the public. He explained that his statement calling Modi a “pagal PM” was in response to the public’s frustration over the withdrawal of Rs 2000 notes.

Chowdhury, who is also the West Bengal Congress president, expressed that he was voicing what the public had already been reacting to regarding the currency issue. This clarification aimed to provide context and shed light on his intention behind the statement.

During a discussion on the meeting between AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata, Chowdhury further emphasized the growing frustration among the Indian people towards Prime Minister Modi. He highlighted that people were increasingly referring to him as “pagal” Modi, meaning crazy Modi. This remark signifies public sentiment and indicates a sense of dissatisfaction with the current government.

In addition, Chowdhury criticized AAP and TMC, suggesting that their main objective was to undermine Congress rather than effectively challenge the ruling BJP. He asserted that both parties aimed to prosper by weakening the Congress, instead of uniting against the BJP. This perspective implies a strategic motive behind their actions and raises concerns about their commitment to countering the ruling party.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury made these statements while addressing the media in his constituency of Behrampore, located in the Murshidabad district. This context helps understand the context in which the remarks were made and provides insights into the prevailing political dynamics in the region.
