Another Defamation Case Against Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Another defamation case has been filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remark comparing Kaurava from Mahabharata to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

The case was registered by advocate Arun Bhadauria on the complaint of an RSS worker, Kamal Bhadauria, at Haridwar court in Uttarakhand.

Addressing a street-corner meeting after the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ambala, Haryana, on January 9, 2023, Rahul Gandhi said RSS members are the “21st-century Kauravas”.

The matter will be heard in court on April 12.

Last month, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years in jail in the defamation case against him for his “all thieves have Modi surname” remark.

A Surat court convicted him under Section 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Following his conviction, the leader was disqualified as a Lok Sabha MP.
